As the Photography Editor at The Mass Media, I maintained a database of media requests and corresponded with staff photographers/illustrators for their weekly assignments. My responsibilities also included photo curation, ingestion, post-processing, formatting, and uploading to our content management system.
Leading a team of artists required some formalization. To ensure consistency across prints, I developed a visual style-guide that builds upon AP standards, deviating to best fit our audience. Being in the position for two years afforded me time to reflect and create a handbook for future Visuals Editors. This included a weekly production schedule, photographer/illustrator hiring guide, and more.
We needed to ensure our asset archive would never be in jeopardy after my departure, so I worked to establish a cloud and local backup framework incorporating Microsoft 365 OneDrive/SharePoint.
